And then there was chocolate

One of my new year's resolutions was to become physically fit. This was tied to my "bucket list" goal of working out consistently for 3 months to get to my peak physical shape. Recently, the fellow even brought up the idea of doing a marathon. I laughed, but secretly I wished I had the moxie to get myself together to do it, perhaps just a half marathon. I was thinking about how big a step that would be to commit myself to even that... so I did one day of exercise, lifted weights at home, did some rowing. One day, and then there was chocolate, which I began to consume with abandon. The past week I've been following that urge - why can't I have a craving for exercise - and the scale has been beating me over the head with the numbers. But who cares about the scale? I do care about the fit of my clothes and the way I feel, and both are slipping. I recently had a set back with the dissertation - I won't be graduating until at the earliest December - so I think I'm going to refocus all of that energy, well, some of it (as I still need to work on the dissertation TO finish) into working out. I may have to ask the fellow for help on this one.
Tomorrow, we're going to Coburg to see what's what there. After that, I think I'm going to ask for a lift to the gym. He's a work out master, so perhaps he'll be up for working out at the same time. I think I'd be too embarrassed to actually workout with him, and I certainly couldn't spot him - he picked up my wardrobe from IKEA with just about one hand after I dropped it huffing and puffing - but could be fun.
I also think I have to ban chocolate from my life ... and I may have to consider banning or seriously reducing the wine. Goodness. :)

Decorating Ideas for the White-Walled Apartment (Part 2)

So, the Cheryl Paswater print arrived this week, as has the gold fabric and the iron work from Blik... but I haven't opened them yet. I am waiting for the need to put this stuff up. I also have to get some frames for the pictures here. I'm hoping to make it to IKEA again sometime soon for some frames. We'll see.

Tea, honey, and gold

Within my throat, it started as a tickle. This afternoon it became a raw ache and that's when I went to the tea. One of the delights of the day in my estimation is pomegranate tea with honey and vanilla-flavored sugar. Another was this morning's breakfast with the fellow. From Rosenmontag's celebration at Live Club to Tuesday's dinner at Bolero's and drinks El Centro and Friday's dinner (miso soup and drunken noodles with pan-seared salmon) dominoes game (I finally beat him) and movie, Saturday's Ikea trip, Wii competition and trip to El Centro and Calimero's, it has been an active and vibrant week. We met a few weeks ago in Venice at Carnivale of all places... I have been favored truly. He is indescribably beautiful and caring.
